British Fell Relay Championship 2021
Sat 16 October 2021, Tebay, Cumbria
Low Borrowbridge, Tebay was the perfect venue for this years British Fell Relay Championship on Sat 16 October. The long walk to the start field from the car park didn’t detract from an excellently organised race by Helm Hill Runners. The event has grown considerably over 30 years, since the 3rd running of the race in 1991, and the first time Preston Harriers had entered teams. Harriers round-up September 27th – October 3rd
The big event of the week was of course Sunday’s Virgin Money London Marathon and Preston’s Rob Affleck wasn’t hanging about as he flew around the course in 2hr:39 to finish 7th vet-50 and 340th overall. Even so, his trademark metronomic pace slowed only slightly from start to finish. Next in was Maksud Vallipatel (3hr:26), followed

After an enforced break in 2020 due to COVID, the HBMR resumed this year and Preston Harriers had an entry. There were doubts over raising a full team due to unavailability of several of our regular fell runners and was finally made complete by Mark Lee and new Harrier Rhiannon Kamink coming in at very short notice.
