In the same race the men 70+ also competed with Alan Appleby finishing 1st and Michael McLoughlin 3rd in this age category with PH winning the team event.

New Longton 10k

5 Harriers turned out for the 2nd 10k in this Years Club Championships at New Longton on a Sunny March morning.

First across the line for Preston was Andy Cottam finishing 11th overall (V40) in 37:01, followed by Stuart Nixon (V40) 13th in 38:25 and Peter Gibson 15th in 39:02 (a new PB) - resulting in Preston Harriers men taking first team prize.

Sandwiched between the men was the first lady home, Chloe Reid in her first 10k in 41:44  and not far behind was Katie Littlefair (2nd) in 42:23 with a huge PB  and Kim Jackson (4th) in her 1st 10k with 43:08 to take the female team prize.

Other individual plaudits went to Liz Horne (V45) - 1st in her age category with 44:22 (PB), Alan Appleby (V75) - 1st in his age category with 50:57.

This course obviously suited the majority of runners with new PBs/Age Category bests also being gained by:
