The fifth race in the Kendal Winter League 2019 took place in the steep sided Barbondale valley. The 3.2km course was uphill from the start, with the out and back route being very tricky on the steep descent. The weather was kind to the runners, with the sun breaking through every so often. Eight members of Preston Harriers took part in the race which was won by Rob Jebb (v/40 Helm Hill) in 20:52. The first Harrier was Oliver Heaton, sixth in the race (22:43); followed by John Rainford (V50 28:14);Roger Taylor (V50 28:31);Eleanor Parker (33:53); Robyn Anderson (FV40 36:08); Mick McLoughlin (V60 36:13);Olga Wiggins (41:02); and Joe Howard (V70 59:06).
