Sat 15 Feb 2020, Bleasdale As storm Dennis threatened the North West over the weekend many road and fell races were called off by Friday. Organisers of Bleasdale Circle Fell Race, Bowland Fell Runners, went ahead with their race, although the course was shortened to an out and back route from Bleasdale Village Hall to Fairsnape Fell, removing the exposed ridge run from Fairsnape Fell to Parlick.
A field of 59 runners, half the usual number, braved the elements, including three runners from Preston Harriers. Jon Green (MV45) finished 7th in 36:17, followed by Tony Livesey, 15th in 38:26. Olga Wiggins (FV40), 51st in 54:48 completed the trio.
Sam Harrison (Bowland FR) won the race in 32:16 and Finty Royle (FU23, Chorley A &TC) finished 16th to win the ladies race.
