Carnforth 20 Barriers Race

Tue 2 July, Carnforth

The annual Carnforth 20 Barriers race attracted 175 entrants on a lovely sunny evening made for running. The route, which was revised in 2017 owing to a local quarry closure, of approximately 5 miles and 525 feet of climb, is an ideal introduction to trail racing for the uninitiated. There was a sprinkling of local club runners from the Preston area including 3 from Preston Harriers. First home for Preston was Kate Lakeland in 71st position, 47.24 followed by Phil Lakeland, 5th MV60, 56.40 and Ben Higginson, 6th MV60, 59.27.
