Harriers donate to Foxton Centre

Philippa Walsh writes, For 2 weeks in June members of Preston Harriers were invited to get their Club kit on and run, walk or cycle to any of 5 locations to drop off their donations. This gave members a purpose to their exercise. At each of the drop off houses a Harriers vest was hung from the window and a drop off box was outside to ensure it was Covid safe. Over the 2 weeks 1 brother and sister, Hollie and Luke Suffolk ran to 4 of the drop off points to leave donations.

THE FOXTON CENTRE From its origins as a youth centre in Avenham in 1969, the Foxton Centre is a proud Preston charity and a strong community anchor. From our community base we work with many people on the margins of city life – rough sleepers, street sex workers, young people in the Avenham district – who often face problems with poverty, addiction, and mental health issues.

We can’t manage all this by ourselves – we work closely with a wide range of partners, organisations, volunteers and donors to provide active resources for people and communities in our city. Email info@thefoxtoncentre.co.uk or call on 01772 555925.

Staff at The Foxton Centre has requested that we collected toiletries and underwear and when I arrived with a car full of items they were delighted, assuring me it is much needs and will all get used.

Well Done and thank you to everyone who donated and a special thanks to Maureen, Anne, Sue and Neil for having their houses as drop off points.
