Harriers round up May 16th – 22nd

Tuesday the 17th saw the latest staging of the Trafford Grand Prix with several impressive performances over 800 metres. Including Jenson Warren running a PB of 02:05.58 to take first in race 4, Lauren Waddington running a seasons best of 02:20.69 to place fifth in race 6, and veteran Paul Heywood making a return to track racing, running a time of 2:30.71 to place fifth in race 7.


On the roads three harriers lined up in the elite starting pens at the Great Manchester 10k with Emma McColm and Chloe Lam-Moores going in the women’s race and Sam Evans in the men’s race. MCColm ran a superb PB of 35:42 to finish 16th, with Lam-Moores also running a PB time (37:14) to take 21st. Whilst in the Men’s race Sam Evans completed the race in 33:34 to take 71st place.


Steve Hallas and Julie Tyrer were in action at the Civil Service Athletics Associations 10k race at Battersea Park, London. With Hallas 24th in 39:20 and Tyrer running a seasons best of 57:17.


Steve Mort completed the Hangman’s Noose 10k in Lancaster in a time of 43:25, finishing eleventh.


Over in the states Jamaine Coleman ran a seasons best of 8:37.73 to place 15th of 3,000 metres at the USA Track and Field Distance Classic in California.
