Never failing to attract a strong field, the Mid-Cheshire 5k is one of the region’s top 5k races and as such it always features a couple of Preston Harriers. This latest meet was no different with Steve Hallas competing in the A race and Dougie Potter featuring in the B race. Veteran Hallas is in fine form at the moment and clocked a very impressive 17:42, which was good enough for 219th position on the day, which highlights just how competitive this event is. In the B race, Potter broke the 19-minute barrier to finish 53rd in a time of 18:59, another fine performance.
