Mid Lancs CC League Final Race Information

The first Mid Lancs Cross Country fixture of the new season takes place on Saturday 9th October at Towneley Park, Burnley. It will be good to get together and see everyone at a cross country race for the first time since Lancaster on 29th February 2020. Details of the location at Burnley and course maps are on the Mid Lancs site All the club entries have now been made in advance of the fixture and there is no facility for any entries on the day.

Of all the athletes who expressed an interest in competing this season, we had a final list of four who had not renewed their England Athletics affiliation. Their coaches have been advised and we can`t do anything further now to guarantee an entry and a number. We also now cannot add any new runners and they will have to register themselves for future fixtures at the Sportsoft website

There is however, a different entry system for the Liverpool fixture (27th November) and more information will follow, when we know what the arrangements are.

Race numbers will be distributed at the Preston Harriers club tent. Look for the tall club flag where the tents are situated – usually near the start line at Burnley. Please bring your own safety pins to affix the number to the front of your club vest. Official club vests must be worn. If you do not wear a club vest, you run the very real risk of being disqualified. There is no Mid Lancs tent / HQ on the day and there won`t be throughout the season. Please note the race times, and please arrive in plenty of time before your race. If you are competing for the first time at cross country or this venue, it`s always a good idea to arrive in good time so you can prepare and walk part, or all, of the course. If you are competing for the first time, depending on the weather, please bring warm clothing for before and after your race and, suitable footwear both before and for your race. The race times are:- 12pm – U11 girls 12.15pm – U11 boys 12.30pm – U13 girls 12.50pm – U15 girls and U13 boys 1.10pm – U15 boys and U17 women 1.30pm – U17 men, V70 men, Junior, Senior and Vet women 2.15pm – Junior, Senior and Vet Men.
