Sat 29 Feb 2020, Lancaster For the final fixture of the Mid Lancs cross country league season, there was a return to Rylands Park, Lancaster. The conditions were blustery, with the winds increasing in intensity through the day. Surprisingly, it was not as muddy as was expected and the courses were firm and didn`t churn up.
For the senior men, a good performance resulted in a team third place overall on the day, which meant the team finished 4th in Division One. Perhaps a slight disappointment after winning the league last season, but Harriers were only just edged out of third place on a head to head with Clayton-le-Moors. Wes Wilkinson had another fine outing, finishing 18th over the 9.6k course in 36.44. Jon Green was close behind, 20th in 36.57 and Andy Whaley was 24th in 37.23. The other team counters were Gethin Butler (33rd), Luke Greenfield (54th) and Alex Venables (62nd) Kevin Hesketh, finishing one place in front of his main rival, ensured that he shared the Vet 60 championship with Nick Hume (Blackpool).
The senior ladies ran 6k. Katey Foster, who has looked stronger in each race, was 12th in 26.59. Laura Conn was 45th in 29.49 and Liberty Bryan 66th in 31.46.
