After a two year absence, the PH stage of the inter club series took place on Wed 15 June. 264 runners from the 7 clubs competed.
Planning for the event started way back in March, and the event's success is due mainly to the commitment and efforts of the core organising team: Ian Bebbington, Kari Edwards, Joe Howard, Dave Lea, John Slater, Steve Taylor, Philippa Walsh and Sue Wickham. A lot of effort goes on behind the scenes to ensure the event is both successful and safe. I would like to personally thank all of the core organising team for their help and support in putting on this year’s event.
In addition, we had around 50 club volunteers on duty on the night in various roles such as course marshal, start/finish marshals, lead bike etc. If you volunteered on the night in some way - thank you.
The race started promptly at 7:30PM, and everyone made it round the course safely, so from my perspective as Race Director, it was a success! Look out for a separate race report from Dave Lea, as former fleet street editor it promises to be a good read; rumour has it Dave has Piers Morgan on speed dial!!
