Sat 10 Nov 2018, Leverhulme Park A fine autumnal day with conditions relatively dry underfoot greeted a mixed group of junior and senior runners at the second league race of the season. First off was Ethan Chadwick, Under 11 Boys race, finishing very well in 11th position. George Denye had the performance of the day winning the Under 13 Boys race by 2 seconds. With team mates backing him up Preston Harriers finished 2nd team just behind Trawden AC. Ben Dilworth (5th), Sam Smalley (27th), Leighton Hewitt (28th) and Jack Winstanley (33rd) completed the Under 13 Boys.
The Under 13 Girls team finished 7th and comprised of Anna Thompson (17th), Poppi Watson (23rd) and Megan Reynolds (24th). Charlie Hay (9th) led home the Under 15 Boys team to 4th place and he was backed up by Thomas Chadwick (14th), Billy Reid (30th) and William Kay (31st). Jessica Watson finished 2nd, leading the team to a comfortable victory in the Under 15 Girls race. Following was Libby Huxley (7th), Scarlett Sutton (9th), Emily Knell (20th), Emily Mason (22nd) and Jessica Lane (24th).
A small senior men’s team enjoyed the 3 lap course with two hills and a stream crossing, which was quite shallow compared to recent years. First home was Simon Collins (39th) followed by Chris Wales (88th), Billy Johnstone (98th), Dave Watson (117th), Alan Appleby (157th, 2nd Vet 70) and Steve Taylor (200th).
