Road Championship Round Up

The road championship is approaching the business end of things as the races are ticked off one by one, and without doubt this is the most open championship in years. With the big points being spread out among a number of runners across both the open and age category leagues, setting us up for an interesting conclusion with potentially some new names being added to harriers history.

In the men's open category it is Mariusz Kovacs, Alex Venables and David Watson who lead the charge for the title, whilst in the women's open it is Julie Tyrer, Marian Hesketh, and Sue Wickham who are leading the way. However there are plenty of races to go, so expect a few twists and turns between now and the September.

In the age category championships our leads in the vet-40 tables are Steve Hallas and Julie Tyrer, in the vet-50's it is Dave watson and Jenny Lock, and finally in the vet-60 leagues its a Hesketh double act with Kevin Hesketh leading the men and Marian Hesketh leading the women.

The next three fixtures are Thornton interclub on June 28th, Wesham interclub on July 18th and then the Run Aintree 5k on July 31st.

Good luck everyone!
