Sale Harriers Winter Indoor Series

Sun 5 Jan 2020, Manchester The first Track and Field action of the new year saw twenty Harriers checking out current form and as a few got pbs and others were quite close it looked like the hard winter work was paying off.

In the 60m sprint Curtis Mitchell was one who got a new pb with a 7.09sec time. Daniel Shuttleworth (U17M) posted 7.92, Alexander Halliwell (U15B) 8.43 and Lucy Fyffe (U17W) 8.48sec. The 200m saw William Walmesley (U17M) post 24.43sec, Lucy Poole (U15W) 26.45, Alissa Darbyshire (U20W) 27.01 and masters athletes Sharon Wilkinson (V45W) 27.61 and Carol Holt (V40W) 30.10sec.

Most numbers of our athletes took part in the 600m and first off was Liam Blackwell (U20M) with 1.23.80. Next it was Jackie Fairchild (SW) in 1.31.35, then Sharon Wilkinson (V45W) 1.44.51, Fay Houghton (U17W) Annie Duffy (U20W) 1.47.95, Emily Reynolds (U17W) 1.46.38, Emily Mason (U17W) 1.50.65, Martha Rayner (U15W) 1.52.55 and Charlotte Mahoney (U15W) 1.53.43; both Martha and Charlotte got pbs. Anna Thompson (U15W) was our final competitor posting 1.54.08.

Curtis and Daniel contested the 60m hurdles; for Curtis it was very close to his pb and for Daniel it was a pb.Their times were 8.38 and 10.85sec. Our only high jumper was Lucy Fyffe who cleared 1.50m. In the pole vault we had Maisie Saul (U20W) who cleared 2.60m and Ruby Allison (U15W) clearing 1.85m. Maise got a pb. In the long jump Alexander Halliwell (U15M) leapt to a new pb with 4.46m and William Walmesley (U17M) jumped 4.97m. Finally in the shot put Alexander threw 5.80m.
