Just over 300 runners took to the tracks and roads in and around Astley Park last week for the 5th road interclub race of the season. Conditions were good as it was a fairly pleasant evening with no rain. Wesham’s Rob Danson was in imperious form, winning by over a minute from Rob Affleck, although Affleck paced his run well and was first vet 45 in 26.28. Gethin Butler was 4th and then the Preston Harriers packed in very well; Toney Donnelly (7th), Gary Pennington (8th), Richard Smith (10th) Chris Chappell (13th), Karl Hodgson (14th) and David Watson (17th). The open team finished first on the night Not far behind were Andy Whaley in 19th and Chris Miles in 20th. Katey Foster was the first woman home for Harriers, and she was 4th lady. The other team counters were Emma Hargreaves (10th), Victoria Duckett (18th), Vicki Sherrington (27th) and Sarah Wilson (31st).
