Mid Lancs Cross Country League 2022-23

As happened last season, the league is operating an online entry system only. THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY ON THE DAY.

The fixtures are:

15 Oct 2022 – Witton Park, Blackburn 26 Nov 2022 – Sefton Park, Liverpool (part of BA Cross Challenge Series) 14 Jan 2023 – Lawsons Ground, Blackpool Date TBC – Wilsons Playing Fields, Hyndburn

Please note the Sefton Park, Liverpool fixture is part of the British Athletics Cross Challenge Series – the Mid Lancs entry does not cover this fixture and a separate entry system takes place. Further details will be available later.

The date for the fixture at Hyndburn, previously advised on 10th Dec 2022 has been cancelled, and will be re-arranged on another date (tbc). Another fixture may be held at Kendal.

If both these fixtures do take place and there is no guarantee they will, this would give five fixtures instead of the normal six, further reflecting how difficult it is to secure venues and the same clubs really do not want to host year after year.

Senior Men & Women

The following entry information is for all runners in the Senior Men and Senior Women’s race, i.e., seniors, vets and Under 20 age groups (not Under 17 Men). For all senior runners who wish to run in the Mid Lancs Cross Country League for the 2022-23 season you must enter via the team manager, by 30th September. There is no fee to run in the races if you enter by this date. It will still be possible to enter races after this date, but you must do this individually online and the cost is £1 (+Admin fee) per race.

You must be a fully paid-up member of Preston Harriers for this season (from April 2022) and you must have an England Athletics Registration Number for the 2022-23 season. This must be done before the team manager(s) are able to submit your Mid Lancs League entry.

To enter the Mid Lancs Cross Country League 2022-23 races:

Please contact Steve Taylor, by email, before 30th September. The information required for the entry is your Full Name (first and second names are fine), date of birth and England Athletics Registration Number.

This applies to all Junior age categories including Under 17 Men & Women.

A junior co-ordinator is being actively sought by the club committee but there is no one in place presently. If someone does volunteer, members will be notified. A junior co-ordinator / team manager liaising across the juniors at all levels is the ideal to encourage and promote participation, take the club forward and be present at each venue.

In the absence of a junior co-ordinator currently, for entries you may wish to speak to your coach. Individual entries can be made for the Blackburn fixture from 9th Oct 2022. The cost is £1 (+ Admin fee) per race. It is suggested that the website is checked periodically in case dates for individual entry change. Enter at SportSoft Entries & Results (

Juniors, please do not contact Steve Jackson or Steve Taylor for MLCC entry.
