Ribble Way Trail Race

Sun 10 Sept 2017 The​ ​inaugural​ ​Ribble​ ​Way​ ​10k​ ​and​ ​half​ ​marathon​ ​trail​ ​races​ ​took​ ​place​ ​along​ ​the​ ​scenic banks​ ​of​ ​the​ ​River​ ​Ribble​ ​starting​ ​and​ ​finishing​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Dolphin​ ​Pub,​ ​Longton. The​ ​race​ ​was​ ​well​ ​organised​ ​by​ ​the​ ​Rotary​ ​Club​ ​of​ ​Preston​ ​Guild​ ​and​ ​Preston​ ​Harriers​ ​led the​ ​way​ ​with​ ​Kevin​ ​Hunt​ ​first​ ​to​ ​finish​ ​more​ ​than​ ​2​ ​minutes​ ​in​ ​front​ ​of​ ​his​ ​nearest​ ​rival​ ​in​ ​a time​ ​of​ ​40.56.

Next​ ​to​ ​cross​ ​the​ ​line​ ​was​ ​Andrew​ ​Lea,​ ​15th​ ​(50.19),​ ​followed​ ​by​ ​Ashraf​ ​Kazee,​ ​16th​ ​and​ ​1st MV50​ ​(50.27),​ ​Phil​ ​Lakeland,​ ​34th​ ​and​ ​2nd​ ​MV60​ ​(56.20),​ ​Emily​ ​Molloy,​ ​52nd​ ​(61.16)​ ​and Tracy​ ​Young, 108th​ ​(81.02). In​ ​the​ ​half​ ​marathon​ ​there​ ​were​ ​strong​ ​performances​ ​from​ ​Alan​ ​Martin,​ ​15th​ ​and​ ​3rd​ ​MV45 (1.44.02)​ ​and​ ​Mick​ ​McLoughlin,​ ​33rd​ ​and​ ​2nd​ ​MV60​ ​(1.55.58).
