The village of Wray near Lancaster was alive with many colourful characters for its annual Scarecrow Festival. This year`s theme of `Traditional Tales` brought entries as diverse as King Arthur, Beanstalk Jack and Donald Trump.
The festival opens with the 10k road race and a large field of 165 runners assembled in warm sunshine. Preston Harriers Matt Livingstone led from the off and stormed home in 1st position with a time of 35.25, nearly 3 minutes ahead of the second placed runner. Next Harrier home was Kevin Hesketh in 25th position, (44.20), closely followed by wife Marian in 32nd overall and 4th lady, (45.31). Phil Lakeland completed in 86th, (52.11) with Felicity Cross 116th, (57.02).
