Lower Youth Development League Match 3
Sat 22 June 2019, Bebington, Wirral Preston Harriers qualified for the Northern regional final which is to be held at UCLan Sports Arena Preston next month. The team was weakened by a number of the athletes being away competing for Lancashire at the North West Schools’ Combined Events championship at Crewe. Sale won the match with Harriers finishing 2 points behind Wirral in third place on 596 points. This result means that Harriers finish runners up to Sale in the league. St

Paddy’s Pole Fell Race

Chris Holdsworth of Ribble Valley H. was the clear winner of Paddys Pole Fell Race, organised by Preston Harriers. He ran the 6k course with 336m of climb, from Fell Foot to Fair Snape Fell and returning over Parlick, in an excellent time of 27:42, which was only 1 sec slower than his winning time of 2018. Clougha Pike Junior Fell Races

6 intrepid juniors participated in various age categories in the Darren Jones Clougha Pike Fell Race at Quernmore, near Lancaster. This is the 5th and penultimate race of the Preston Harriers Junior Fell Championship and is considered one of the toughest junior races in the Harriers fell calendar. Preston Harriers’ senior athletes fought hard to win their second league meeting at Litherland, Sefton, and maintained their top position in the league by scoring 399 points to win from second placed Blackpool who scored 381.5 points. British Masters 5K Road Championship 2019
Sun 16 June 2019, Horwich The British Masters road championships are always hotly contested and act as selection races for the national teams in the home countries cross country international which is held in November each year. Preston Harriers had their best ever Northern Senior & Under 20 Championships, winning 5 gold medals, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes. Matthew Wigelsworth had a brilliant weekend winning double gold in the 800m and 1500m senior championships recording times of 1.52.55 and 3.52.87 respectively.
