    Northern Athletics Road Relays

    Sun 15 Sept 2019, Manchester Joe Monk led the senior men’s team at the North of England Road Relay Championships, which were held at the Etihad stadium in Manchester and required each runner to complete a leg of 6800 meters. Completing the first leg in fifth position, in a time of 20:06, which turned out to be the twelfth fastest time recorded by a senior male that day.     Mid Lancs Cross Country Ulverston

    Sat 28 Sept, GSK Sports Complex, Ulverston The first cross country event of the 2019/20 is on Sat 28th Sept at Ulverston. Numbers will be given out on the day from the club tent.     North West Counties Road Relays

    Sun 8 Sept 2019, Edge Hill, Ormskirk This year the relays were organised by Merseyside region with three other regions, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire in competition. This year several Cumbrian clubs were also included, this all creating better competition in the region.     Preston Harriers have 1 team confirmed (Mens Open) and 1 team pending (Mixed Open) in this year’s British Fell Relays, 6 runners per team. The mixed team must comprise 3 men and 3 women.     Wigan 10K Road Race

    Sun 1 Sept 2019, Wigan Elsey Whyman-Davis put in what was arguably the club’s performance of the day, when she blew away the women’s field to cross the finish line in a time of 34:56 almost five minutes ahead of the next woman. The race, which is associated with Wigan Council and the Jumpin Jacks charity, saw over 2,000 runners take to the streets and was won by Philip Robertson of Sale Harriers in a time of 30:44.     Garstang Half Marathon

    Sun 1 Sept 2019, Garstang 14 Harriers turned out for the classic Garstang half marathon, a race which at one time attracted the area’s best runners to fight it out over the challenging 13.1 mile course. Harriers Simon Collins and Andy Whaley broke away from the rest of field from the gun and the event quickly became a two-horse race.     Chipping Show Fell Race

    Sat 24 August 2019, Chipping The annual Chipping Show Fell Race, organised by Preston Harriers, took place on Saturday August 24th starting at the Chipping Showground and heading across the boggy fields to the foot of the fells. The race then takes in Fair Snape Fell, Blindhurst Fell and returns over Parlick and back to Chipping. There was no danger of the race record being beaten because of the heavy underfoot conditions.
