Sun 1 Sept 2019, Wigan Elsey Whyman-Davis put in what was arguably the club’s performance of the day, when she blew away the women’s field to cross the finish line in a time of 34:56 almost five minutes ahead of the next woman. The race, which is associated with Wigan Council and the Jumpin Jacks charity, saw over 2,000 runners take to the streets and was won by Philip Robertson of Sale Harriers in a time of 30:44. Sun 1 Sept 2019, Garstang 14 Harriers turned out for the classic Garstang half marathon, a race which at one time attracted the area’s best runners to fight it out over the challenging 13.1 mile course. Sat 24 August 2019, Chipping The annual Chipping Show Fell Race, organised by Preston Harriers, took place on Saturday August 24th starting at the Chipping Showground and heading across the boggy fields to the foot of the fells. The race then takes in Fair Snape Fell, Blindhurst Fell and returns over Parlick and back to Chipping. There was no danger of the race record being beaten because of the heavy underfoot conditions.
